CITW Strategies - 2

Cues, Qustions & Organizers :
- Cues are hints for students for them to know what the upcoming lesson will be.
- Questions are for students to figure out what they know & what they do not know.
- Organizers help students understand what they know & what they do not know.
Cues, Questions & Organizers are all linked together tp help students understand what they will be learning & what they will know. Using all three of this strategies at the beginning of every lesson will help students focus on the topic even more at a better understandable view.

Cooperative Learning :
Drs. David Johnson & Roger Johnson (1999) uses five elements to define cooperative learning which are:\
- Positive Independence
- Face-To-Face Promotive Interaction
- Individual & Group Accountability
- Interpersonal & Small-Group Skills
- Group Processing

Non-Linguistic Representation :
Non-Linguistic Representations help understand a topic by the use of imagery. There are five strategies teachers use to enourage students to create, store & tap on information either mentally or with conrete tools & displays. These strategies are:
- Creating Graphic Oraganizers
- Making Physical Models/Manipulatives
- Generating Mental Pictures
- Creating Pictures, Illustrations & Pictographs
- Engaging in Kinesthetic Activity
These strategies are powerful because they tap into a students' natural tendency for visual image processing, which helps them construct the meaning of relevant content & skills & have a better capacity to recall it later.
